Plot Twist: The Heavenly Rescue

Image
In the grand theater of Heaven, where celestial bodies shine like warriors’ shields, Revelation 12 unfolds a story that rivals the greatest epics of all time. A woman, radiant as the sun, stands cloaked in light, crowned with twelve stars, laboring to bring forth a child. This is no ordinary child—He is destined to rule the nations. But in the shadows lurks a dragon. Not just any dragon, but a fiery red serpent with seven heads, ten horns, and a tail so powerful it sweeps stars from the sky. His mission? Devour the child the moment He is born. The stage is set for a cosmic showdown. The Cosmic Showdown The dragon prowls, ferocious and cunning, ready to strike. His hatred is boundless—a venomous rage against life and purpose. But just as darkness threatens to consume the moment, Heaven intervenes. The instant the child is born, God snatches Him up to His throne, thwarting the dragon’s deadly plans. And the woman? She is given wings—yes, wings of an eagle—to escape to a place of refuge p...

The Jealous Lover

Image
There once was a Lover whose heart was set on His beloved from the beginning of time. With hands that shaped stars and eyes that saw beyond eternity, He crafted a world so beautiful, filled with colors, sounds, and scents — each element designed to echo His love. His greatest joy was in creating a sanctuary for His beloved, a place where they could walk together, unhindered and close. But as in any true love story, the journey was not without obstacles. The Lover’s heart ached, for His beloved had a wandering soul, easily captivated by the glittering, fleeting things in this world. She sometimes sought excitement in places that couldn’t satisfy and drifted toward shadows that promised a thrill but left her feeling empty. And so, she would turn away, finding herself lost in illusions that had no power to hold her. One day, when the beloved had wandered too far and found herself lost in a deep and lonely valley, she felt a stirring, a gentle pull as though someone was calling her by name...

True Understanding

Image
Photo by Ed Jarrett - https://aclayjar.net/2023/11/the-spirit-of-wisdom-and-revelation/ Have you ever wondered why some believers seem to live in constant victory while others struggle with fear and uncertainty? The difference often lies in one simple yet profound thing—understanding. Just as a person’s ability to enjoy the benefits of citizenship depends on knowing their rights, a believer's ability to walk in the fullness of their potential depends on their grasp of who they are in Christ. Without this understanding, we may live far below the level of freedom and authority that has been freely given to us. But with it, we step into a life of purpose, confidence, and dominion. As believers, a true understanding of our rights and privileges in Christ is a tremendous asset that empowers us to live to our full potential. At the heart of this understanding is the recognition of Christ's finished work and His jurisdiction over our lives. Consider the role of a law enforcement offi...

Making a Friendly Conversation

Image
Many years ago, I told a friend during a conversation, "You don’t know what you are saying." This might be a typical response when you are strongly opinionated and feel your view is superior to others. However, such words are condescending, diminish self-esteem, and come across as arrogant. When my friend called my attention to it, I later apologized and promised to do better next time. Speaking is an art, and we can learn the art of speaking skillfully and professionally. Here are a few strategies that I think would be helpful. Credit: Image by MabelAmber on Pixabay 1. Agree to Disagree One effective strategy is to agree to disagree. Start by appreciating their personality or viewpoint so they do not see your comment as a personal attack. For instance, you might say, "Hmm, your point actually got me thinking, and I appreciate your thought process. But don’t you think…? This is because…." This approach acknowledges their perspective, making them feel valued and int...

The Blueprint of Meaning

Image
"Each thing is created by God and derives its true meaning in God; therefore, without the knowledge of God, each thing loses its meaning." This profound truth speaks to the essence of our existence. Everything around us—every star, every blade of grass, every person—was created by God with intentional purpose. It is within His divine plan that all things find their true significance. When we disconnect from the knowledge of God, we risk losing sight of the meaning that is inherently woven into creation. The Origin and Purpose of All Things God, in His wisdom, spoke the world into existence. As the Apostle John declares, "All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made" (John 1:3). This foundational truth links the meaning of everything directly to its Creator. The beauty of nature, the complexity of life, and the vastness of the universe all point to a purposeful, powerful God. Each element of creation, whether great or small,...

That I May Know Him

Image
Paul writes in Philippians 3:10-11, "That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead." These verses reveal a progression in our walk with the Lord, a journey marked by transformative experiences and deepening faith. Knowing the Lord is a practical experience that encompasses several profound aspects: Credit:   Image by  PixelAnarchy  from  Pixabay The Power of His Resurrection The power of His resurrection is the saving power of God that brings us from death to life, turning the old into the new, and certifying us with the seal of redemption. This makes us partakers of the divine nature. Peter captures this beautifully in 2 Peter 1:3-4: "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. Through these He has given us His precious and ...

A Reflection from the Island of Patmos

Image
By the Island of Patmos, where the Apostle John once received divine revelations, I find myself surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of nature. This serene environment stirs something deep within me, a feeling that can only be described as pure love. It's a love so powerful that it sparkles through my heart, a love unquenchable by any multitude of waters, reminiscent of the love described in the Song of Solomon: "Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away" (Song of Solomon 8:7, NIV). As I ponder this overwhelming sensation, I can't help but wonder, what do we call this? How can such profound emotion be explained or demystified? It's like a butterfly turning in my belly, an exciting and almost surreal feeling. My heart, oh my heart, you have been captured. The light of this love has shone on every corner of my being, making everything clearer than a crystal ball. The Apostle John also spoke of a divine light, saying, "The light shines in the ...

The Leadership Legacy of Jesus

Image
In the depths of the human experience, there exists a profound interplay between knowledge and action, purpose and destiny. Like threads intricately woven into the fabric of our existence, the essence of righteous knowledge is not to simply adorn the mind with brilliance but to ignite the flames of purpose within our souls. It is this alignment of wisdom with action that propels us forward on the journey toward fulfillment. In the annals of history, there stands a figure whose life epitomized this profound truth—Jesus Christ. In the scriptures, in John 13:3, we glimpse the depth of Jesus' understanding of His own existence. He knew, with unwavering certainty, that all things had been placed under His power by the Father. He understood His divine origin, having come from God, and He was acutely aware of His ultimate destination—returning to God. Armed with this righteous knowledge, Jesus embarked on a mission that would forever alter the course of humanity. But what sets Jesus apart...

A Lesson In Receptivity and Action - The Wisdom of the Astrologers

Image
The birth of Jesus marked a profound turning point in human history, symbolizing God's intervention and gift to mankind. In His wisdom, God chose to reveal this event not only to the religious elite but also to individuals whose profession delved into the mysteries of the cosmos – the astrologers. The astrologers, despite their unconventional occupation, possessed deep knowledge of the cosmic realm. However, it was the appearance of a unique celestial phenomenon that captured their attention, prompting them to embark on a journey guided by wisdom. Their decision to follow the celestial sign illustrates the importance of curiosity as a virtue, for through curiosity, God can unveil great truths to us. Had the appearance of the star been limited to a select group of religious scholars, the message may have been confined, hindering its widespread acceptance. Interestingly, the religious scholars of Jesus' time, immersed in theology, often failed to recognize the divine workings in ...

I AM A FAKE PASTOR

Image
I am not a genuine pastor. Yes, you read that correctly. I employ psychological tactics, using spiritual pretenses to gain your trust. My demonstrations of piety and carefully crafted speech are intended to cloud your judgment, providing me with unhindered access. This is a calculated charade that conceals any imperfections on my part. I deliberately maintain the façade you expect, manipulating your thoughts with ease. In this deceptive trade, every occurrence in your life needs an explanation. I construct a shield against life's uncertainties, instilling fear and confusion to subtly control your mind. The ultimate objective is to wield influence over you, divulging your pocket with ease and asserting dominance. Part of my scheme involves perpetuating your dependence on me. I feed you misinformation to keep you returning. Crucial elements for personal growth are deliberately omitted, leaving the unsuspecting unaware of their stagnation. Here's the truth: I am not a pastor. The ...

The High Cost of Impulse

Image
The biblical narrative in Hebrews 12:16 paints a vivid picture of Esau, who is labeled a fornicator and profane person. The verse reads, "Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright." At first glance, it might seem perplexing to associate Esau's actions with fornication, especially when the initial challenge appeared to revolve around food. However, delving deeper into the narrative reveals a profound lesson about yielding to the desires of the flesh and the severe consequences of such choices. Esau's story serves as a cautionary tale against yielding to momentary impulses that can lead to the relinquishment of something invaluable. The reference to fornication in this context extends beyond its literal meaning. In a broader sense, it symbolizes a surrender to the base desires of the flesh, trading a glorious destiny for temporary and fleeting gratifications. Today, the ease with which individuals yield to t...
