The Blueprint of Meaning

Image
"Each thing is created by God and derives its true meaning in God; therefore, without the knowledge of God, each thing loses its meaning." This profound truth speaks to the essence of our existence. Everything around us—every star, every blade of grass, every person—was created by God with intentional purpose. It is within His divine plan that all things find their true significance. When we disconnect from the knowledge of God, we risk losing sight of the meaning that is inherently woven into creation. The Origin and Purpose of All Things God, in His wisdom, spoke the world into existence. As the Apostle John declares, "All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made" (John 1:3). This foundational truth links the meaning of everything directly to its Creator. The beauty of nature, the complexity of life, and the vastness of the universe all point to a purposeful, powerful God. Each element of creation, whether great or small,...

That I May Know Him

Image
Paul writes in Philippians 3:10-11, "That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead." These verses reveal a progression in our walk with the Lord, a journey marked by transformative experiences and deepening faith. Knowing the Lord is a practical experience that encompasses several profound aspects: Credit:   Image by  PixelAnarchy  from  Pixabay The Power of His Resurrection The power of His resurrection is the saving power of God that brings us from death to life, turning the old into the new, and certifying us with the seal of redemption. This makes us partakers of the divine nature. Peter captures this beautifully in 2 Peter 1:3-4: "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. Through these He has given us His precious and ...

A Reflection from the Island of Patmos

Image
By the Island of Patmos, where the Apostle John once received divine revelations, I find myself surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of nature. This serene environment stirs something deep within me, a feeling that can only be described as pure love. It's a love so powerful that it sparkles through my heart, a love unquenchable by any multitude of waters, reminiscent of the love described in the Song of Solomon: "Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away" (Song of Solomon 8:7, NIV). As I ponder this overwhelming sensation, I can't help but wonder, what do we call this? How can such profound emotion be explained or demystified? It's like a butterfly turning in my belly, an exciting and almost surreal feeling. My heart, oh my heart, you have been captured. The light of this love has shone on every corner of my being, making everything clearer than a crystal ball. The Apostle John also spoke of a divine light, saying, "The light shines in the ...

The Leadership Legacy of Jesus

Image
In the depths of the human experience, there exists a profound interplay between knowledge and action, purpose and destiny. Like threads intricately woven into the fabric of our existence, the essence of righteous knowledge is not to simply adorn the mind with brilliance but to ignite the flames of purpose within our souls. It is this alignment of wisdom with action that propels us forward on the journey toward fulfillment. In the annals of history, there stands a figure whose life epitomized this profound truth—Jesus Christ. In the scriptures, in John 13:3, we glimpse the depth of Jesus' understanding of His own existence. He knew, with unwavering certainty, that all things had been placed under His power by the Father. He understood His divine origin, having come from God, and He was acutely aware of His ultimate destination—returning to God. Armed with this righteous knowledge, Jesus embarked on a mission that would forever alter the course of humanity. But what sets Jesus apart...

A Lesson In Receptivity and Action - The Wisdom of the Astrologers

Image
The birth of Jesus marked a profound turning point in human history, symbolizing God's intervention and gift to mankind. In His wisdom, God chose to reveal this event not only to the religious elite but also to individuals whose profession delved into the mysteries of the cosmos – the astrologers. The astrologers, despite their unconventional occupation, possessed deep knowledge of the cosmic realm. However, it was the appearance of a unique celestial phenomenon that captured their attention, prompting them to embark on a journey guided by wisdom. Their decision to follow the celestial sign illustrates the importance of curiosity as a virtue, for through curiosity, God can unveil great truths to us. Had the appearance of the star been limited to a select group of religious scholars, the message may have been confined, hindering its widespread acceptance. Interestingly, the religious scholars of Jesus' time, immersed in theology, often failed to recognize the divine workings in ...

I AM A FAKE PASTOR

Image
I am not a genuine pastor. Yes, you read that correctly. I employ psychological tactics, using spiritual pretenses to gain your trust. My demonstrations of piety and carefully crafted speech are intended to cloud your judgment, providing me with unhindered access. This is a calculated charade that conceals any imperfections on my part. I deliberately maintain the façade you expect, manipulating your thoughts with ease. In this deceptive trade, every occurrence in your life needs an explanation. I construct a shield against life's uncertainties, instilling fear and confusion to subtly control your mind. The ultimate objective is to wield influence over you, divulging your pocket with ease and asserting dominance. Part of my scheme involves perpetuating your dependence on me. I feed you misinformation to keep you returning. Crucial elements for personal growth are deliberately omitted, leaving the unsuspecting unaware of their stagnation. Here's the truth: I am not a pastor. The ...

The High Cost of Impulse

Image
The biblical narrative in Hebrews 12:16 paints a vivid picture of Esau, who is labeled a fornicator and profane person. The verse reads, "Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright." At first glance, it might seem perplexing to associate Esau's actions with fornication, especially when the initial challenge appeared to revolve around food. However, delving deeper into the narrative reveals a profound lesson about yielding to the desires of the flesh and the severe consequences of such choices. Esau's story serves as a cautionary tale against yielding to momentary impulses that can lead to the relinquishment of something invaluable. The reference to fornication in this context extends beyond its literal meaning. In a broader sense, it symbolizes a surrender to the base desires of the flesh, trading a glorious destiny for temporary and fleeting gratifications. Today, the ease with which individuals yield to t...

Letter To My Future Self

Image
As I pen down these words, I am filled with a profound sense of wonder about the trajectory of my life and the incredible journey that lies ahead.  Dear Future Self,  How will your service be in God's vineyard? Will the elevated status ever impede your commitment to joining believers in evening worship and diligently searching the scriptures? I acknowledge the demanding nature of higher professional roles, where the constraints of a 24-hour day may seem insufficient to manage the myriad responsibilities vying for attention. But, dear future self, I implore you to reflect on the importance of maintaining the expected level of commitment to the things of the Kingdom. Undoubtedly, you will be blessed beyond measure, but in the midst of prosperity, do not forget your responsibility in sharing the gospel, strengthening the brethren, upholding truth and righteousness, and aligning with the purpose of God for your life. Recognize that you serve as a positive reference to other...

A Journey of Gratitude and Reflection

Image
In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to lose sight of the countless blessings that surround us every day. As we begin a new year, perhaps you, like myself, find yourself in the quiet moments of retrospection, wondering if God has truly been present and active in your life in 2023. Let's pause for a moment, and just as the Lord interrupted Pastor E.A. Adeboye some years ago, allow Him to interrupt your thoughts too. Take a pen and paper, and consider these questions: “How many times did you travel in the previous year?” In the mundane rhythm of our days, we often forget the privilege of movement. The journeys we embark on, big or small, are a testament to the possibilities that each day holds. “How many times did you have an accident?” Reflect on the times you were kept safe from harm, the near misses that might have gone unnoticed. Each preserved moment is a testimony of divine protection. “More than 365 days have gone by in the previous year; how many times did you sl...

Endless Grace and Intercession

Image
"God's Saving Grace knows no bounds and welcomes all, but it thrives when a 'Persecuted Stephen' prays for a 'Saul the Persecutor' to find his path to becoming Paul the Apostle. The real question is: Are you interceding or cursing in your moments of pain? And, just how earnestly are you interceding for your persecutor to discover Jesus Christ, the Savior?" Absolutely, it's crucial to recognize the boundless nature of God's Saving Grace, which is accessible to all, regardless of our past actions or beliefs. The transformation of Saul the Persecutor into Paul the Apostle serves as a powerful example of this grace in action. The key here lies in the concept of intercession, symbolized by "Persecuted Stephen." It's a profound reminder that, as individuals, we have the opportunity to be instruments of change and salvation for those who may be seemingly lost in their own persecutions or misdeeds. The question to ask ourselves is whether w...
